Margaret Virginia Donovan passed peacefully In Newnan, Georgia on May 10, 2017. She was born in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late William F. and Gladys Flanagan Degan. Margaret attended school in Boston; later working for the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC during World War II. After raising her two daughters, she returned to the workforce as a buyer of fine jewelry for Filene’s. She and her late husband Daniel Francis “Danny” Donovan lived in Avon and Plymouth MA for many years before retiring to Ocala, FL where she enjoyed the beach, reading and spending time with cherished friends.
Margaret leaves her daughters Diane Towns Rhoads and her husband John of Santa Cruz, CA and Deborah Donovan Glover of Newnan, GA. There are four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Gladys Degan O’Brien of Kingston, MA. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Nathaniel Banks Glover IV and son-in-law Richard Wilson Glover.
