Margaret “Maggie” Sanders passed away peacefully in Tuscaloosa, AL at Druid City Hospital, on Sunday September 19th 2021, at the age of 80 years old.
Maggie was born in Annapolis, MD and moved with her beloved husband and three children to Pennsylvania and West Virginia, before settling in Alabama.
She is preceded in death by, her parents William and Agnes Connell, her sisters, Barbara Connell and Mary Connell, two brothers, her loving husband, Charles “Charlie” Sanders, Jr. and her son Charles “Chuck” Sanders III.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Eleanor Noe (Annapolis, MD), her son, Greg Sanders, her daughter Lisa Sanders Scherer (George), and her granddaughter, Samantha Dorough (Bradley) of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Maggie worked for Tuscaloosa City School systems and retired from the University of Alabama, Brewer-Porch Children’s Center, as Kitchen Supervisor. She traveled the East/Southeast, antiquing, finding unique collector’s items with her husband Charlie.
She enjoyed playing and hosting Poker Night with her friends, who quickly became family.
The family of the late Margaret Sanders wish to express their appreciation to her ER and ICU Dr’s and nurses of DCH, that took special care of her.
