Margaret Rolene “Peggy” Trainer, 87, of Modrell Avenue, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 6, 2008) in Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 24, 1921, in South Bend to Ray and Bertha Mae (Uncanher) Groshans. On May 21, 1977, she married Earl Trainer in Elkhart. He died in 1984 in Elkhart.
Mrs. Trainer is survived by one son, Larry (Pam) Richardson of Osceola; two daughters, Jacquelyn Cunningham of Elkhart and Sharon (Carl) Forrest of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette Chipp of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Leona (Bruce) Stringer of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and the father of her children, Robert Richardson; one son, Terry Lee Richardson; one granddaughter, Regina Richardson; one great-grandson, Brenden Miller; and one brother, William “Billy” Groshans.
Mrs. Trainer retired in the early 1980s from South Bend Plastics, after nearly 15 years of service, to tend her mother and husband, both of whom were in poor health. She worked at Wendy’s on Cassopolis Street, Elkhart, for several years, was a fun-loving person and had an unstoppable sense of humor. She was talented and loved to sew, paint, do crafts, and play the organ and guitar.
