Margaret “Peggy” Shahan, 75 of Centralia, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.She was born January 28, 1941 in Centralia, daughter of Erma Jean (Dearborn) Knight. She married John M Shahan on July 4, 1977 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2015.
She is survived by one daughter, Kim Laxton and husband Steve of Centralia, three brothers: Bud Anderson and wife Barb of Benson, Arizona, Jim Knight of Springfield, Missouri, Dan Knight and friend Sandy King of Springfield, Missouri, three sisters: Marion Wood and husband Billy of Deatsville, Alabama, Gracie Wood and husband Gary of Bell City, Missouri, Jeannie Knight and friend Lynn Salvo of West Palm Beach, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Marilyn Swanson.Peggy loved fine dining and cooking. She also enjoyed animals. She was a member of the Lady Elks. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
