Margaret Virginia Montour “Peggy” Forbes, 69, of Westminster, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her residence.  Born July 28, 1946 at home in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Montour.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, William and George Montour.  She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marie Maempel (Jackson) and husband Harry, grandson Bradley, younger brother Russel Montour, Sr., her companion of 30 years, Clarence Gittere, her best friend Karindale Zepp, her 16 Red Hat sisters, her live in angels Cathy and Larry Damer, and her beloved cat Scooter.

Peg was once asked what she wanted to be remembered for the most, to which she replied, she wanted everyone to know she was a kind person, although she was so much more than that.  She was a loyal employee which showed with her 32 years of service at Random House.  A great mother, to which her daughter Lisa and all of her friends can attest.  She mothered them all with advice, humor, plenty of hugs, love, and laughter.

She traveled the world, both near and far, with Australia and New Zealand being her favorites.  There was never a slot machine she didn’t try to hit a jackpot on.  She loved lilacs, lemon meringue pie, steamed crabs, Ocean City in the fall, and spending time with her bestie Karin, never tiring of things to reminisce and laugh about.

Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a self-taught cake baker.  One would be hard pressed to find anyone who had not tasted Peggy’s fantastic, moist cakes for which she was famous in her own right.  She was funny, stubborn, one hell of a hard worker, a loyal friend, sister, daughter and mother.
