Margret Mary Marqua, born December 19th, 1957 was the fifth of eight siblings born to Charles and Mary Marqua. She is survived by five of her siblings: Catherine, Charles, Richard, Joseph and Matthew. Her childhood friends knew her as Margie and later she became known to her friends as Mearah. Mearah was a ballet dancer and athlete, medical intuitive, healer, teacher, sister, aunt, and friend.
Mearah lived in Weston, Connecticut. Mearah passed on Sunday, July 30, 2017 after a short illness. She was 59 years old. She attended high School at Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, CT and attended University of Illinois where she studied music and dance. Mearah danced for the Jaffrey Ballet and was sought after by prominent dance companies including the London Royal Ballet.
Mearah was an amazing aunt to all her nieces and nephews. In her never-ending desire for learning and acquiring new skills, Mearah would often share her new experiences-from jewelry making, to Hawaiian nose flute, to dance moves with her nieces and nephews. Mearah earned the ‘fun’ and ‘favorite’ aunt status from all her nieces and nephews.
Mearah moved from her dance career to teaching movement to heal. Mearah, is a recognized pioneer in the development of healing techniques and systems utilizing sound and movement to repair and strengthen the immune system to heal psychological, emotional, and physical trauma. She integrated her professional experience in dance, movement and the healing arts to create classes and workshops designed to facilitate the inner awakening of the body, mind and soul. Above all else, she led her practice with love, humor and humility. We all love and miss her . . .
