On June 27 1966, Gloria and Harold Hulme completed their family with the addition of a beautiful, bright-eyed, and long-sought-after baby girl they named Margi. She was an instant favorite and source of joy to her six older siblings. For the next 49 years she would bring a similar delight to everyone she came in contact with.

Margi’s quick mind and determination made her a natural scholar, and she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Boise State in 1988, graduating with honors and a host of academic achievements. With her brilliant intellect, varied passions, and love of people, she was an amazing friend and conversationalist, able to engage in discussion on everything from art, music, politics, and philosophy to gardening, travel and college sports (particularly her beloved Boise State Broncos!). But it was her compassion and loyalty even more than her wit and charm that defined her as a person. Margi was able to truly see people as they are and was expert at recognizing and appreciating the unique good in everyone she met. If you knew her, you almost certainly felt you shared a special relationship, because she was so good at making you feel exceptional and valuable. Even in the final days of her illness, she was devoted in all of her relationships and eager to listen and offer words of encouragement to friends and family.

Despite her many accomplishments and talents, the thing she valued most was family. She married her true love and partner, Greg Nettles, on June 23, 1990, and they ultimately became the parents of five children: Rachel, Hunter, Parker, Kate, and Tadman.

Margi’s true character was revealed in her faith and serenity in the face of the metastatic breast cancer that ended her life on this earth. She was constant in her love and support of family and friends and always ready with her radiant smile, even at the lowest moments of this punishing trial of body and mind. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity of spirit and an unwavering conviction in her inevitable reunion with the family she loves so well.
