Margaret R Sexton; August 4, 1929 ~ December 5, 2020 Margaret Francis was born in Amarillo, TX to Bill and Mabel Russell. She then grew up in Hobbs, NM with her parents and siblings. (two brothers and two sisters). She met and married David Walker in 1949. Whom she was married to for 45 years until his death. Margaret (or “Maggie” as family and friends called her) finished her education with a Master’s Degree in teaching at Western New Mexico University. She then taught in the Cobre Consolidated School System for over 20 years and was a beloved math teacher. In 1997 two families were brought together when Maggie met and married Dr Robert Sexton. They were together until his passing in 2012. Maggie enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, doing stained glass with Bob, and spending time with family.
She is survived by daughter Karen Walker (Margaret Pettengill) of Santa Fe, NM; daughter, Nancy Trinkle (Jeff) of Silver City, NM and son, Rob Sexton, Jr. of Santa Fe, NM. Four grandchildren, Christy Sturman (Dan), Shane Trinkle (Angela), Kelly Thai (Chris) and Alicia Gruber. Also surviving Maggie are many great grandchildren, daughter in law Vicki Sexton, and daughter in law Heidi Ogas (Frank Ogas). Maggie was preceded in death by three sons, Skip Walker, Ed Sexton and Joe Sexton.
