New Hartford, CT – Margaret Helen O’Hara Winans entered eternal life surrounded by her loving family on November 28, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Born on February 3, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of John Maguire & Kathryn (Duffy) O’Hara and was the beloved wife of Charles J. Winans for 62 years.Maggie was a 1952 graduate of St. Paul’s Cathedral High School in Pittsburgh and resided with her family in Indiana, PA, Liverpool, NY, and Warminster, PA before settling in New Hartford, CT in 1977. She loved her family and her pets and was as a solid friend to all who knew her. Maggie and her family are communicants of St. Joseph Church in Winsted and are very active at both the church and St. Anthony School.Maggie retired from outside employment to help raise her grandchildren and spent 28 rewarding years attending every school show, concert and all other events for her grandchildren. She is a greatly-loved grandmother who has provided a constant stream of love and encouragement. She was happiest when spending time with her family, including her frequent visits back to Pittsburgh and travel with friends and family.Maggie is predeceased by her mother and father. In addition to her husband, Maggie is survived by her sons David (Maria) of Albany, NY, Michael of Greenville, SC, and Peter of Colebrook, CT; and daughters Barbara (Mark) Hartwell of Barkhamsted, and Donna Dell’Agli of Barkhamsted. Maggie is also survived by her six grandchildren, Santi (Allie) Dell’Agli of New Hartford, Alessandra Dell’Agli of New Britain, CT, Anthony Dell’Agli of Brookline, MA, Alex Winans of Syracuse, NY, and Nicole and Travis Hartwell of Barkhamsted, CT; and great grandchildren Benedict, Cecilia, and Gianna. Maggie is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and some cousins and many nieces and nephews.
