Margaret M. White, 102, of Williamsport passed away surrounded by family and friends Saturday, February 22, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna.
Born October 11, 1917 in Betz, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Solomon.
Margaret married James B. White on February 28, 1942 and together they shared 30 years of marriage before his passing on July 30, 1972.
Margaret was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was a superb baker and the queen of pierogi making. Her greatest accomplishment in life was making her house a home for anyone who entered. Margaret showed tremendous love and support to her family, raising her children with exceptional values and always putting family first. Some may say later in life her greatest accomplishments came anytime she was the winner or champion of the daily card or poker game she was playing. An avid 500 bid player Margaret thoroughly enjoyed playing all kinds of card games with her Thursday card group. She also could be found crocheting or completing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are four children, Dr. James E. White (Eileen) of Sugarloaf, Constance L. Suffecool (William) of Waynesboro, Alice M. Schuster (Blair) of Jersey Shore, and Timothy L. White (Jackie) of Evansville, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Mary White of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a special nephew, Nicholas Solomon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a son Dr. Robert P. White; two sisters; one brother; and a niece, Agnes Solomon.
The family would like to thank Margaret’s home healthcare team for the exceptional care and love they have shown to her.
