Margaret Louise Ruoff passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. She was born June 13, 1931 in Addison, MI a daughter of the late Carleton and Myrna (Thompkins) Muck. She grew up on the family farms and went to many county fairs and pony shows. Margaret also spent many deer seasons at the family cabin in Barton City, MI.
Margaret graduated from Addison High School in 1948. Her primary career was as veterinary assistant. Margaret worked with Dr. Asa Kelley at the Addison Veterinary Clinic for 25 years and later worked for 6 years with Dr. Gene Sellers in Hillsdale, MI. She retired to Kalamazoo in September 1999 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter after the passing of her husband Bert in 1998.
Throughout her life Margaret enjoyed roller skating, dancing, camping, crocheting, bowling, playing pool, Euchre, and listening to classic country and blue grass music. She was a member of Comstock VFW Post 6252 and the Portage-Schoolcraft Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3531. Margaret was famous for her crocheted socks, hats, baby blankets, doll clothes, she could crochet almost anything. If you stopped by to visit her, you were leaving with socks or a hat or both. She was also famous in the pool halls for being quite the pool shark usually finishing at the top of any tournament she was in.
On June 28, 1948, Margaret married Bertram G. Ruoff who preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mable Brown, brother, Wayne Muck and son-in-law, Craig Juenemann. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Beth (Matt) Hughes, a granddaughter, Tori Juenemann and many nieces and nephews.
