Margaret Lee “Mick” Crenshaw, 88, of Centralia, passed away November 1, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
She was born on February 6, 1925 in Centralia the daughter of Robert and Oma (Kell) Carr. She married Virgil (Jack) Crenshaw on July 17, 1943, in Augusta Arkansas and they were married for 59 years before he preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Crenshaw is survived by a son: Tom Crenshaw and wife Carol of Centralia; two daughter-in-laws Dee Dee Atteberry of Centralia, and Titik Crenshaw of California; sister-in-law Venita Carr of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren Leigh Ann (Crenshaw) Wells, Susan Crenshaw, Caryn Crenshaw, Jack Crenshaw, Michael Crenshaw, and Christina Crenshaw; seven step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; eleven step-great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and one step-great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Crenshaw was preceeded in death by a son, James (Jim) Crenshaw and a brother Robert Carr. Mrs. Crenshaw was an avid golfer and loved playing tournaments, ladies league and couples league at Greenview Golf Course as well as throughout Southern Illinois. She loved and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and the many friends she made at Heritage Woods, her home for the past 11 years. Mrs. Crenshaw was a lifelong Centralia resident and homemaker. She was a 43 year breast cancer survivor. During her working career she worked for Hollywood Brands, Centralia City School System, St. Mary’s Hospital and J.C. Penney. Funeral Services for Margaret Crenshaw will be held on Sunday November 3, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia with Dr. Ed Evans officiating.
