Mrs. Johnson passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek.

Margaret was born on March 27, 1916, at Tilden, NE, the daughter of Henry and Gesine (Buddee) Beckerbauer. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden.

She attended Tilden public schools and graduated from Tilden High School in 1934. After graduation, Margaret moved to Sioux City, IA, where she worked as a waitress.

On August 22, 1936, Margaret married Eldon E. Johnson in Elk Point, SD.

The couple moved to Tilden in 1948 and farmed for 7 years. She and her husband moved to Battle Creek and founded Johnson Plumbing and Heating Company.

Margaret was very active in her church where she severed in Dorcas and the Ladies Aid.

In 1968, Margaret was a member of the charter class for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Degree at Northeast Technical College. She graduated in 1969 and began her 14 year career at the Tilden Hospital.

Margaret especially enjoyed knitting sweaters for the overseas missions through Guidepost. She had a talent for making pressed flower cards and bookmarkers.

Margaret is survived by her son, David Johnson and Diane Truscott Johnson, of Norfolk; her grandchildren—Mark and Tammy Werner, Mary and Roger Nicolay, Michelle and Kevin Lingenfelter, and Matt and Zandra Johnson; her great grandchildren—Madelyn Lingenfelter, Kolton Lingenfelter, Karson Lingenfelter, Klayton Lingenfelter, Candace Nicolay, Caleb Nicolay, Carter Nicolay, Kayla Werner and Emmett Johnson; one brother, Carl Beck, of Norfolk and one sister, Ruth Sprouse, of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Dianne Werner, two brothers and two sisters.
