Jean Miner was born July 9, 1922, in Bancroft, the daughter of Earl (Duke) and Lenora Kinsey. She grew up in Algona and later attended business college in New York. Jean was united in marriage to Farris Miner, and after a few years living in Texas, moved back to Algona. She was employed for many years at Home Federal Savings and Loan. She enjoyed hunting, travel and reading.
Jean died on Oct. 18, 2014, in Albuquerque, N.M., where she lived for the past 11 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Dearchs of Algona and Jan Wood of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.
