Margaret H. Maugeri of Burlington City died Friday September 27, 2013 at the Marcella Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington Twp. at the age of 89. Mrs. Maugeri was born in Florence to the late Leon and Estella (nee Higgins) Ashmore and was a lifelong resident of Burlington City. Margaret married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur R. Maugeri who was her best friend both growing up and through their entire married life. Margaret and Arthur just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, September 25th.
She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as a hard worker who loved her family. Margaret had many hobbies and enjoyed knitting, crocheting afghans, cooking (she made the greatest meatballs and sauce), and baked the best pineapple cheese cake. She also loved puzzles and framed her beautiful work on every wall of the house. Her greatest passion was planting her bed of gorgeous flowers and hanging baskets all around her front porch.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Maugeri, her son and daughter in law Arthur J. and Mary Maugeri, her grandchildren Matthew (Bridget) and Melanie and her great granddaughter Erin.
