Margaret Frances Baker, 91, of Indianapolis passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at University Heights Health and Rehab in Indianapolis. She was formerly of Needham, where she lived for more than 70 years.

She was born July 17, 1924 to Thomas and Versal (Parkhurst) Moore in Acton, Indiana. She was a member of the Clark Township Home Economics Club and a life long member of Rocklane Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School helper,a Deaconess, and helped with the youth group. She also coordinated the Angel Tree, blood drives, food pantry helpers, and sang in the choir. She was a 4-H leader for 25 years, Cub Scout Den Mother, and volunteered at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Over the years, she was a caregiver to several people; she loved to help others and make them smile. She worked on her parent’s farm, in her younger days. Later in life, she sold Avon, Tupperware, and delivered telephone books and newspapers.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Dave) Funkhouser; her son, David Baker, both of Needham, two grandchildren; Carrie (Shane) Pitts of Greenwood and Brad Funkhouser of Whiteland and four great-grandchildren; Taylor Funkhouser of Franklin, Gabe and Carrington Pitts of Greenwood and Sam Funkhouser of Whiteland.

She was preceded in death, by her parents, a son, Larry Joe Baker, and two sisters; Henrietta Perry and Marianna Dugan.
