Mrs. Margaret Lazenby Van Houten On March 1, 1930 in the Welcome community, Margaret Elizabeth Lazenby was born to the late Alfred and Hattie Gwendolyn Lovelady Lazenby. She was the younger sister to J. B. “Pete” Lazenby. Margaret was known as a person of strong faith who was immensely loyal to her family and friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her. For 54 years she was the constant presence and helpmate to her husband Donald Van Houten. They worked side by side in the company businesses, Van’s Auto Parts and later Downtown Mini Storage, for over 40 years.
She was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church. She loved her involvement in her Sunday school class, work on the Friendship Committee and Ladies’ Circle. She will be remembered fondly for her kind and sweet spirit and her contagious smile. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hines and her husband Jim; a sister-in-law Joanne Lazenby; cousins, Spencer Luckie Veselica and Elaine Landers; brother-in-law Tom Van Houten and his wife Betty.
