Evangelist. Margaret Elizabeth Carr 93, of 421 Lincoln Street in Burlington, NC entered into eternal peace on Monday January 10, 2022 at Cone Health – Alamance Regional Hospital. She was born to Selma Foust and Esby F. Foust on November 29, 1928 in Alamance County.
Evangelist Carr was a member of Hawfield United Church of Christ until they reorganized to become Melfield United Church of Christ in Haw River, North Carolina. She was the First Lady at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Greensboro, North Carolina along with her husband, the late Pastor William H. Carr Sr. until his retirement. She was respected and loved by many, a prayer warrior and Bible Study teacher. She taught her children the ways of salvation and how to love the Lord. She remained faithful until the end. At her time of passing Evangelist Carr was a member of Mt. Zion United Holiness Church under the leadership of Elder Horace Womble.
She is survived by her sons, William E. Carr Jr. (Renee) of Burlington, NC, Rev. Sheldon Carr (Pamela) of Haw River, NC, Rev. Harold Carr (Kim); of Burlington, NC; daughter, Becky Carr Baldwin; daughter in-law Cindy Carr; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Selma Foust and Esby F. Foust; husband Pastor William Harry Carr Sr.; son, Pastor Anthony Carr; daughter, Jaqueline “Jackie” Carr; brothers, Roosevelt “Babe” Foust, Henry “Bud” Foust; sisters, Rosie Foust Wade, Elizabeth Foust Woods, Florence Foust Crawford, Beulah Mae Foust Leath; great grandchild, Trenton Perry.
