Margaret King (“Marksy”), 69, of Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2023, in Alexandria after a courageous battle with cancer.
Margaret was born in Ketchikan, Alaska to Floyd and Margaret Davidson on August 23, 1954. She attended college at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She worked for the City of Alexandria for more than 20 years where she worked in Code Enforcement and as a Fire Inspector. Margaret cared deeply for her work and ensuring the safety of others. She loved animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, and old movies. She loved hiking, travel, and the outdoors. Margaret was unendingly silly, could also be stubborn, and was at the same turn very kind and very generous. Her absence is strongly felt, and she is already greatly missed.
Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Floyd, and her mother, Margaret. She is survived by her partner, Lucky Stokes, her daughter, Laura Peters, son-in-law, Evan Peters, granddaughter, Elliott Peters, sister, Jane Malik, and many cousins.
