Margaret “Peggy” (Collins) Stickels, 79, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of Russell Stickels, passed away early Friday morning on June 8th with her daughters and granddaughter by her side at Hartford Hospital after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born in Rocky Hill, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Neuman) Collins. Peggy always said she was born on the kitchen table. Peggy worked as a personnel manager in a department store and enjoyed summer vacations in Wellfleet Cape Cod. Peggy is survived by her daughters, Karen Chambrello and her husband, Patsy of Rocky Hill, Debbie Cone and her husband, Wally of Rocky Hill and Patricia Kaczynski and her husband, Rob of Colchester; her sister, Ann King of Rocky Hill; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Patrick, III and Patrick and his wife, Amy; two great grandchildren, Montana and Noah and two special friends, Joyce McKenzie and Muriel Parker whom she loved being with. The three of them have been friends since first grade and continued watching UCONN Women’s Basketball together. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
