Margaret Coburn Fitzpatrick of Clarksburg, 88, passed away Tuesday March 13, 2012 from an extended illness.
Margaret was born November 14, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur Coburn and Tessie Furbee. She was married to the late Henry Frederick Fitzpatrick, Jr., who passed away February 1, 1982. Margaret graduated from Salem High School in 1941. She was employed by Union Carbide as a switchboard operator. She is survived by four children, Henry “Hank” Fitzpatrick III and wife Sheila of Wheeling, WV; Dee Elaine Cool of Middlebourne, WV; Joan Freeman of Clarksburg; Ian C Fitzpatrick and wife Melinda of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Sean Fitzpatrick and wife Carri; Bryan Fitzpatrick and wife Heidi; Jennifer Goebel and husband Nathan; Eddie Cool and wife Samantha; Sarah Freeman; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Harold Coburn and wife Joyce of Beverly Hills, FL; six sisters, Nellie Harris, Grantsville, WV; Mary Coburn, Pennsboro, WV; Betty Gault and husband Bill, Ashland, OH; Carole Shearon and husband John, Marietta, OH; Linda Davis, Pennsboro, WV; Brenda Riddle and husband Barry, Sandusky, OH; special niece, Sandra Patterson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Margaret is preceded in death by a daughter Mary Esther Seeders, a brother Arthur “Sonny” Coburn and a sister Barbara “Bobbie” Sutton.
Margaret was also a member of Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 11 in Clarksburg. She was a member of the Board of Directors for Crystal Lake Club, where she held office of President. Margaret was an avid reader and spent numerous hours at the library, doing research for the Harrison County Genealogical Society.
