Margaret Clara Herb was born on June 20, 1930 in Phillpsburg, New Jersey to Edward and Elsie Allen. She had a twin sister, Myrna. She had three brothers, Russel, Edward and Thomas. Margaret was gifted in Music. She and her sister sang together and were known as the Allen Twins. Margaret was an accomplished soloist, and was active in choral groups such as The Bach Choir, the Zion Choral Society, and choirs in the churches she and her husband served in.
Margaret went to Berean Bible School in Allentown, Pa. in September of 1950 where she met her husband, Frank L. Herb, Jr. They graduated from Berean Bible School in May, 1953, and were married on June 27, 1953 at Berean Bible School by Rev. Jansen Hartman, the President of the School.
Margaret and Frank moved to Paradise, Pa. to start a Bible fellowship Church. They lived in an apartment in the LeFever farm in Strasburg, Pa. They were there for about 14 months, but a good start for the Church was realized. They moved to Lancaster, Pa. serving that Church for four years. They moved to Harrisburg, Pa. serving that Church for five years. They moved to Bethlehem where they served Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church for fifteen years. After that they served the Church at Coopersburg, Pa. for five years and then served the Fleetwood Church for five years.
In 1990 they retired and moved back to Bethlehem because that was where their children lived. They had three children; Mark, Myrna and Frank. They have six grandchildren, April, Adam, Sarah, Samuel, Aleks and Tasha, one great-grandchild Lily.
While in retirement Margaret and Frank were active at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church but physical problems resulted in their moving into Fellowship Terrace in Whitehall, Pa. They came to live there on May 27, 2006.
