Margaret C. Kitko, age 90, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife of the late Jacob J. Kitko, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at CT Hospice in Branford. Born in Nanticoke, PA on April 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Bartek Merva. Margaret served with great pride and honor in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and the Women’s Army Air Corps during WWII, having spent time in England and France. She was a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Milford Hospital Auxillary. Margaret was a devoted, loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Kitko Miller of Milford and Robert Kitko of West Haven, six cherished grandchildren, Michael Shaw, Colleen Burrows, Colin Merritt, Robert Viola, Andrew and Adrienne Kitko and six great grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Morgan, Joshua, Hannah and Mikey. Margaret was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.
