Margaret “Angie” Green passed away Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 in her home with loving family by her side after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She lived the 81 years of her life as a resident of Parma, Idaho, born to Lula and Roscoe Hedges on January 31st, 1929. Her investments in the people and the community of Parma began then, and continued generously throughout her lifetime. After graduating from Parma High School in 1947, Angie married Merle Green in 1950. Together, they raised three daughters and ran Green’s Jewelry, a business that they dedicated themselves to for over 40 years.
Angie embraced life with deep faith, and lived by example, leaving a legacy often spoken about in sermons. She engaged relationships with compassion and kindness, always giving priority to the needs of others. Examples of her giving nature rest in memories of curling up with grandchildren to read favorite books, attending lovingly to her companion pug Penni, baking and cooking to comfort family and friends, and opening her home with grace and gentleness to care for many. Her loyalty, quiet strength, good humor, and grounded nature will continue to serve as excellent examples for the many lives she touched.
Angie is survived by her caring and devoted family, including her children, Connie Holsclaw, Cheryl Neace (husband Jimmie), and Merri Jo Freese (husband Ken); her seven grandchildren, Kirsten Murray (husband Greg), Jonathan Winther, Chris Holsclaw, Mike Freese (wife Kelsey), Mark Freese (wife Erica), Derick Richter, and Brandon Richter; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and an expectant great-grandchild . She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; son, James Allen; and parents.
