Margaret A. “Margie” Schweikle, 77, of Grand St. Williamsport, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 25, 1934, in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Martha Jane Saar Bren.
Margie was a 1952 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, and she attended college at Seton Hill in Greensburg, Pa.
Margie was an organist, and played at St. Luke Catholic Church in Jersey Shore, and Ascension Catholic Church in Williamsport. She worked as a waitress at the former Blue and White Restaurant in Jersey Shore, and also worked at the Carol House, the Grit and was a private duty nurse.
Margie was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, the Annunciation Senior Citizens, and the Newberry Lioness
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Martha (Allan Lee) Messner of Williamsport and two grandchildren, Laura Lee (Joel) Harrison, and Mark Allan Messner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Schweikle; two sisters, Mary Martha Bren, and Josephine Marie Bren; a brother, Joseph J. Bren Jr. and her favorite dog, Jessie.
