Mare Rosie Mae Jackson, 57, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born October 22, 1950, in Crenshaw, Mississippi, the daughter of Lucion and Artie Mae White Jackson.
She is survived by her parents of Jacksonville; five children, Kenneth (wife, Angela) Jackson, Mary Lisa Jackson, Charles Jackson, and Mary Ann (husband, Michael) Smith, all of Jacksonville, and Baretta Jackson of Indianapolis; thirty-four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four brothers and three sisters, Anna (husband, Clyde) Hart, Carrie Freeman, L.J. Jackson, Earl (wife, Karen) Jackson and Patricia Bates, all of Jacksonville, Mark McFarland of Kansas, and Michael (wife, Kim) Jackson of Pekin. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Bertha Jackson, Eva Davis, Claudia Sykes and L.A. Jackson.
Rosie Mae was a member of Mt. Emory Baptist Church. She worked for Excel in Beardstown, and prior to that had worked for Pactiv, Howard’s Cleaners and ARC of Jacksonville. She loved playing cards, scratch-off lottery tickets, going to thrift stores, and her jewelry. She especially loved her grandchildren.
