Mardell Jean Landmesser, 86 of Gilmore City, died August 26, 2009 at the North Care Center, Humboldt. Mardell J. Landmesser, the daughter of Peter and Clara (Ellingson) Movick was born May 21, 1923. She was raised and received her education in Ottosen, IA, graduating from the Ottosen High School. On February 8, 1942 she was united in marrige to Harold Landmesser at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. The couple lived and farmed in the Gilmore City area during their married lives, moving to town in 1982. Survivors include her children, Ronda (Jim) Ripperger, Gilmore City, and Jerry (Barb) Landmesser of Fort Dodge, IA, 4 grandchildren, Stacy (Jim) Schwan, Fort Dodge, Ia, Jackie (Joe) Harrell, Lawrence, KS, Nick (Trina) Landmesser, Dubuque, IA, and Brittany Landmesser, Ames, IA, brothers, Nyle Movick, Springfield, Missouri, Marvin Movick,Springfield, Missouri, Arlo Movick, Mason City, IA, and Bernie Movick, Sioux city, IA, sisters, Ardis Opheim, Mason City, IA, Donna May Gatton, Boulder, Colorado, Darlene Oppedahl, Mason City, IA, sister in law Viola Harris, Fort Dodge, IA, and brother in law Charles Triplett of Council Bluffs, IA. Mardell was a member of First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City where she was active in the women’s circles, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 1991, and infant son James, brother Peter, brother in laws Les and Orville and sister in laws Gladys and Edna.
