Marcus Dwayne Cross was born in San Diego, California on September 12, 1961. At the age of 5, Marcus’s family moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida. Marcus was known as “Marty” to most people who knew him. Marcus attended Cocoa Beach High School and was an all-star athlete on the swimming team. Marcus was also an avid fisherman and surfer growing up. Marcus loved sports and was the biggest San Diego Charger fan in the world, as he never missed a game.

Marcus was a loving and proud father who shared three children with Maureen Morgan. Marcus adopted his son Jamie in 1993. On January 15, 1994 and August 1, 1998 respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful daughters. Marcus lived in Liverpool, England from 1994 until 1996, because of this, he became a Liverpool football (soccer) fan.

Marcus’s biggest joy was being with his family. Recently, he was the proudest grandfather you could meet. He loved to cook for his family and to bring everyone together. Marcus could cook or grill anything to perfection. His creativity was rarely matched, as he was an expert wood sculptor/artist of marine life. Marcus’s artistic ability went far beyond his wood work as he could turn anything into art using recycled materials. Marcus’s recent dream was to fix up his sailboat and to take his grandchildren sailing. He shared this love of sailboats with his late father Timothy Cross. Marcus will be dearly missed by many, however, his dreams and legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren. Marcus has joined his father and they are sailing into the pearly gates of heaven together.
