Marco A. Savello, 90, of Holiday City West, Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in West New York, NJ, he lived in Weehawken, NJ then Toms River before moving to Berkeley Twp. 35 years ago. Marco was a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service in Secaucus, NJ then in Toms River for many years.
He was US Navy WWII veteran. Marco was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. John RC Church, Lakehurst, NJ and formerly of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council 4969, Toms River and was a 4th Degree member of the John D. McMahon Assembly 1926. Marco was also a member of the DAV Ocean County Chapter 24, the Toms River Elks Lodge 1875 and was a member and Past President of the Anchor Club.
He was predeceased by his wives Lorraine Savello in 1983 and Mary Savello in 2000. Marco is survived by his two daughters and sons in law Donna & Charles Schmidle of Collierville, TN and Lorraine “Lorry” & Nicholas Guttilla of Memphis, TN, his companion of 16 years Mary Moran of Berkeley Twp., a sister and brother in law Barbara & Paul Kozakiewicz of Naples, FL, five grandchildren and their spouses Charles Jr. & Kristin Schmidle, Robert & Bridgette Schmidle, Nicholas & Kaci Guttilla, Lorraine & Shane Stores, and Michael Guttilla, and 5 great grandchildren Owen Guttilla, Brandon, Anna, Austin & Amanda Schmidle.
