Marcella Ruth Swilley, age 89, of Three Rivers, died peacefully Thursday, October 30, 2015 in Riverview Manor in Three Rivers. She was born November 29, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana to Camiel and Mary Van de Walle. She married John Edward Swilley, Jr. September 24, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana. They moved to Three Rivers, Michigan in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She was also preceded by her parents; three sisters, Catherine Chrisman, Josephine Tschida and Sister Eleanore Van de Walle; and one brother, Charles Van de Walle. Marcella worked for Essex Wire (later United Technologies) for thirteen years. She then worked at Walgreen’s for seventeen years, retiring in 2004. Marcella will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her only child, a daughter, Mary S. Hart of North Port, Florida; one brother in law, Robert (wife, Marilyn) Swilley of Jones, Michigan; and two nieces.
