Muncie – Marcella R. Murphy, 90, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.
Marcella was born in Muncie on April 1, 1923, the daughter of Roy and Noriene (DuBois) Marks, and was a graduate of Muncie Central High School.
Mrs. Murphy worked for over 10 years in the offices of Ball Stores. She was an avid bowler since 1955, and was a member of the Muncie Bowling Hall of Fame. Marcella was a Bearcat fan and season ticket holder for over 60 years.
Survivors include a son, De-Wayne Murphy, (wife-Tami), Muncie; a daughter, Darlene Fullhart, Muncie; a daughter-in-law, Marcie Murphy, Indianapolis; ten grandchildren, Gerald Overshiner, Chad Murphy, Brad Hensley, Sean Murphy, Jennifer McCormick, Andy Overshiner, Misty Cooper, DeWayne Burton, Blake Burton, and Danielle Hensley; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Charles Edwin Murphy; a son, Donald Murphy and a brother, Carl Marks and a son-in-law, Al Fullhart.
