She was born in Petersburg, Indiana on November 24, 1926 to Edward and Esther C. (Quackenbush) Kendall. Marcella married her loving husband, James R. Thompson on March 1, 1947.
Family members surviving are: her husband, James R. Thompson; two sons, Bill (Kathy) Thompson and James (Ellen) Thompson, both of Odon; grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Breeden, Jeremy Thompson, John (Nikki) Thompson, Lori (Jamil) Meriwether and Jada Taylor; step-grandchildren, Stacy (Joey) Hollis, Jason (Jessica) Guy, Andrea Hollis and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Marcella was preceded in death by: her parents; one daughter, Marilyn Sue Mitchell; two brothers, Edward Leon Kendall and an infant; two sisters, Regina Stutsman and Betty Elliott.
