MARCELLA ANN HEMENWAY AKA “COOKIE” 10-09-38 – 02-19-2015 Born in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Martha Ptacek on October 9, 1938. Marcie lived in Las Vegas, Nevada but resided in Sierra Vista for the last 22 years. She was married to John, her husband of 33 years. Marcie was a lifetime member Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9972, owner of a travel agency, loved traveling, avid outdoorswoman, fishing, hunting, baking, gardening, animals and critters. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Yunker of Las Vegas, Nevada and Marcella Willow of Fort Collins, Colorado; husband of 33 years John of Sierra Vista, Arizona; five grandchildren, Stephanie LaTour of Las Vegas, Nevada, Adrea Solano of Manhattan, Kansas, Matthew Dominguez of Fort Collins, Colorado, Amanda Oakley of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ann Dominguez of Denver, Colorado; also twelve great grandchildren and cousin Madeline Spakausky of Willow Springs, Illinois. Preceded in death by her parents and Uncle Ralph Weinstock in South Pacific as a member of the Marine Corps in WWII. Viewing at Jensen’s Mortuary on Friday, February 27, 2015 10:00-12:00 followed by reception at VFW Post 9972 from 12:00-2:00.
