Marceline S. Nunes, 95, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville.
She was born July 19, 1915, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Henry A. and Hattie E. Baldwin Souza. She married Harold J. Nunes on July 20, 1979, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2000.
Mrs. Nunes is survived by one sister, Doris DeShara of Jacksonville; one nephew and three nieces, Tom (Debi) DeFreitas of Carrollton, GA, Kay (David) Smith of Roswell, GA, Sue A. (Stanley) Hayes of Jacksonville, and Lori L. Tinsley of Springfield. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Jean Odaffer and Bernadine M. DeFreitas.
Mrs. Nunes was a lifelong and very active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and later attended Centenary United Methodist Church. She retired from J. Capps & Sons after many years of employment. She was active with the Jacksonville Food Bank and was a member of U.C.T.
