Marcelene R. “Marty” Bishop, 82, of Bayview Gardens, IL passed away at 11:59 am on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on June 10, 1934 in Peoria, IL to Albert and Dorothy (Closen) Cullen. She married Albert L. Bishop on November 13, 1952 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her children Marcia (Tony) Regnold of Spring Bay, IL, Douglas Bishop, Sr. of Peoria Heights, Janice Foster of East Peoria, Kevin Bishop, Sr. of Sioux City, IA, Albert “Scott” (Barbara) Bishop, Jr. and Amy (Jeff) Morrow both of Bayview Gardens; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister Sharon Monroe of Peoria; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by son Randy Bishop, three brothers, and one sister.
Marty was a cook at the Dixie Manor in Peoria for 27 years and for many years at the Village Inn in Spring Bay. She played softball for Peoria Redwings, Diesel Lettes, and Producers Dairy.
