Marcel “Mike” G. Hebert, 86, of Mendon Road, Cumberland, passed away on September 8, 2021, at Friendly Home. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne (Bibeault) Hebert. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Andre and Marie (Lambert) Hebert. Mike earned a PhD in taxation from Texas Tech University, a Master in taxation and a Master in accounting from Bryant University, and a Master in mathematics from Bowling Green State University, as well as CPA and CMA certifications. Mike was a Professor at Bryant University for thirty years and previously taught at Dean College for seventeen years.
Mike was an avid card player and a life-long Red Sox fan; he also enjoyed participating in several golfing and bowling leagues. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus and Cercle Laurier. Mike was a past president, manager, and coach of East Woonsocket Little League. Mike was very active at St. Joseph’s Church; he volunteered and served on many committees. He was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, served on the Liturgy Committee, and was past chairperson of the 50/50 Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Andre Hebert of Burrillville, Pierre Hebert of Woonsocket, and Charles Hebert (wife, Melissa) of Blackstone, two daughters, Anne-Marie Hebert of Mapleville and Nicole Hebert of Cumberland, six grandchildren, Suzanne, Michael, Brian, Eric, Megan, and Mandy, and a great-grandson, James. Mike was a devoted father and grandfather. He dedicated his spirit and energy to loving and caring for his wife and family.
