Manuela R. Lambert, age 93, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. Born in San Antonio, TX, on October 25, 1917, she was the daughter of Emilio Rodriguez and Marie Hernandez Rodriguez. A longtime resident of the Boerne area, she was member at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Nellie believed strongly in keeping her family together. Raising eight children and maintaining a household required that every summer the whole family would travel to Michigan and work the fields as migrant workers. Nellie was a woman of faith who persevered, laughed, loved and enjoyed watching her childrens”, grandchildrens” and great grandchildrens” accomplishments. We will always remember her smile, wit and the strength of her embrace. She was a hard worker and was not a woman of wealth, but stated, “Mi riqueza, es mis hijos” (My wealth is my children). Preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Jose Garza, in 1962, and second husband, Frank Lambert, Mrs. Lambert is survived by children, Pedro Garza (Maria), Joe Garza, Jr. (Celia), Eva Mitchell (Thomas), Roy Garza (Malorie), Ollie Miller (Tim), Ray Garza, Rueben Lambert (Jennie), Cora Sanderson (Jeff); 18 Grandchildren; Twenty Great Grandchildren; sisters, Victoria Sanchez, Jane Gutierrez, and Emily Ramos.
