Manuela T. Chavira 83, of Bayard passed away Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at the Silver City Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Manuela was born February 10, 1931 to Jose and Jesusita (Villegas) Trujillo in Hurley. Those who knew her will remember her for her love of the outdoors, camping and music. If there was music she was dancing. She was known “Nana” to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Many will miss Mrs. Chavira.
She is survived by her sons; Edward Chavira and his wife Elodia of Phoenix, AZ., Ruben Chavira and his wife Rosemary of Deming, Wilfred Chavira Jr., of Bayard, and Aurelio Chavez also of Bayard, her daughters; Clorinda Strain and husband Ron of Mimbres, Carmen Lopez also of Bayard. Her siblings; Joe Trujillo and his wife Rosemary of Hurley, and Rosa Medina of Hurley, and sister-in-law Margaret Trujillo of Aragon. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren
Preceding her in death is her husband Wilfred Chavira Sr. in 2000, her sisters Andrea Young and Mary Trujillo and her brother Teofillo Trujillo.
