On Monday, March 21, 2022, at 4:44 pm on the first day of spring, the Perez family lost a humble, kind, helpful, dedicated, and loving person.
Manuel was born in Teocaltiche, Jalisco. He came to the states in the 50s–60s. He worked as a gas station attendant and worked himself up by going to mechanic school, landing jobs at Frank Toyota and Hyundai that lasted many years. After that, he decided to run his own business in a Jitney Bus transporting people all over San Ysidro. He worked long hours to provide for his family, up until 2005 when he just retired and was able to spend quality time, making sure all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren did not lack anything.
Manuel comes from a large family himself. His brothers and sister were Jesus Perez, Felipe Perez, Antonio Perez, Angel, Carmelo, and Rutila all of whom have passed away and his only surviving brother is Jose. His daughters Lissette and Annette along with 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren survive Manuel. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident in his final moments.
