Mannon Lee Ponder passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020, surrounded by family. He was born on June 30, 1942 in Gainesville, GA. Mannon grew up in Heard County where he met the love of his life, Jackie Lynn Ponder. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. He was the owner of Ponder Painting for 40 years. His work allowed him an opportunity to befriend many in Coweta County. Those who were fortunate enough to know him, knew that they had a true friend. He was a friend, mentor, and father-figure to many. He often shared life-lessons and advise to those around him and was not hesitant to let you know how he felt about things. He was mason member of Newnan Lodge #60. After a difficult childhood, he poured all his love into his own family. He showed his love by working to provide for his family. He was a simple man who wanted nothing for himself but delighted in giving much to his loved ones. He was preceded in his death by his mother Nancy Roper Huckeba, brother Ralph Ponder, several uncles and aunts – Neal Roper, Eva Roper, and Elva Nutter. He is survived by his wife Jackie Ponder, children Nerissa and Kevin Elrod, Kelly and Christy Ponder, grandsons Cole Elrod and Jake Elrod, siblings David Huckeba, Charles Huckeba, Harold Huckeba, and Randy Huckeba, sisters Judy Crider, Elizabeth Walker, Martha Lehtimaki and Gwenda Boone, many special nieces and nephews that were very dear to him, and many close friends that he considered brothers.
