Dr.

Manie Lee Darter was born September 7, 1933, at Coleman, Oklahoma to the late Dennis and Mary Jane (Tipton) Dean.  Manie grew up on a farm in Coleman, Oklahoma with her four siblings.  It was there that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Blue River.

Manie and the love of her life, Donald  Darter, were married in 1948 at Sherman, Texas. She and Donald moved to Ardmore and she began her life-long career in the restaurant business and where her sons, Larry and Tommy Darter, the pride and joy of her life, were born.

She enjoyed summers with her family at Lake Murray and motorcycle trips from Florida to Las Vegas and all over the Northwest.  An avid sports fan, Manie loved feeding and entertaining her Ardmore Tiger football players after their practices.  Her favorite sports teams were O.U. Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.  During her waitressing years she acquired many friends and never met a stranger.

Manie passed from life to life everlasting, Friday, December 13, 2019 at the age of eighty six years, three months and six days.

In addition to her parents, Manie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her stepfather, Frank Cole, brother, J.C Dean and wife, Coy and brother-in-law Jackie Callen.

Survivors, that will forever cherish precious memories, include her two sons and their wives, Larry and Hazel Darter of Springer, Tommy and Cathy Darter of Boerne, Texas and daughter-in-law, Diane Darter, Ardmore;  brother, Delton Dean and wife Lue, of Coleman;  sisters, Anna McArthur and husband Richard, Tishomingo and Janie Callen, Milburn.  Also her grandchildren, Chad Darter, Clint Darter and Courtney Darter Bruce of Boerne, Texas, Larry Darter Jr. and Jason Darter, Ardmore and Deidra Darter Reynolds, McKinney Texas; step-Grandchildren, Jeremy Ross, Springer and Stephanie Ross Lee, Lone Grove; fifteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
