Malissie Mae Brooks
On Monday, July 26, 2010, at her home in Virginia Beach, God in His infinite wisdom called Malissie Lit Brooks from labor to rest. She was born on June 22, 1919 to the late Oscar B. and Amelia W. Brooks in Wake County, NC. She was the youngest of eight children.
She professed Christ at an early age and became a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she served faithfully. After relocating to Virginia, she united with First Calvary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Barbara Sindab, grandchildren Judy Duke (Delbert), Janice Boylan, Pamela Scott and Tracey McLendon (Warren), great-grandchildren, Jarick, Quaima and Elayszya, Aunt Minnie Holden, nephews Charles Brooks, and Christopher Hinton (Willa), nieces Margaret Garner, great-niece Kathleen Johnson, (Kenneth), great nephews Christopher, Frank, Troy, Charles and William, a caregiver Venus Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
