Malcolm P. “Micky” Love Jr., 83, of Bloomington, went home to be with the Lord, Monday July 7, 2014.

Micky was born June 24, 1931 in Bloomington and was the son of the late Malcolm P. Love Sr. and Alice Marie (Shook) Love.

Micky was a graduate of University High School and after graduation began a 23 year career in the United States Marine Corp. He served in the Korean War with the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Purple Heart. After his discharge from active duty Micky was a member of the Indiana National Guard for many years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard.

Micky’s faith was the foundation of his life and was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church where he was a member of The Beacon’s Sunday School class and was the founder and leader of the Veteran’s Ministry. He was also a member of the Hoosier Hills Emmaus Community and had worked several walks. He was also an active member of The Community Bible Study, and the ECC International Bible Study.

Micky was always working, and worked for many years as an Aerospace Engineer in California, later at Black Lumber and was still employed at Advanced Auto Parts where he was a delivery driver.

Micky was also a very talented artist. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty (Brown) Love of Bloomington, daughter Karrie Lynn Love of Bloomington.
