Magnum worked K-9 demonstrations for many schools, churches, and other community organizations. He participated in drug searches that led to the arrest of several suspects, confiscated illegal drugs, and money seizures. Magnum located several suspects from tracks, building searches, area searches, including but not limited to, burglary suspects and robbery suspects. Also through Magnum’s searches or apprehension, the police located several handguns and were able to take them off of the street. Magnum was a beloved member of the Anderson Police Department. A loyal friend, family member, companion, and partner, he loved playing ball with whom ever would take him on a game of fetch. As a member of Officer Matt’s family, you could not ask for a better dog. He loved to cuddle with his wife and kids, or his friend, the family’s dog, Bella. Most of all he loved to work!! He searched out those who harmed others and did this selflessly, giving his life to protect Officer Matt Jarrett and his fellow officers.
