Magdalene Elizabeth Bryan, age 94, of DeMotte, Ind. passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Oak Grove Retirement Village in DeMotte.
Maggie was born September 10, 1923 in Gary, Ind. to Peter and Mary (Petrilak) McRovitz. She graduated from Froebel High School in Gary, the Class of 1941. Maggie married the love of her life, Arthur Louis Bryan on and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2004.
Maggie and Art owned Bryan’s Dairy Queen in Gary for 35 years. Maggie had also worked at Sokits Bakery in Gary, John Hall Accounting Firm in Gary and also was formerly employed at Emil Perrotta Company INC. She had attended St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church in Merrillville and was a member of the St Cecilia Catholic Church in DeMotte.
Maggie is survived by her children: Marie Ard of Hobart, Ruth (Tom) Ampeliotis of Valparaiso, Ind., Laura (Gary) Roberson of New Salsbury, Ind., David (Carol Davis) Bryan of Chicago, Ill., Cheryl (Don) Goetz of DeMotte, Ind., Richard (Debbie) Bryan of Lake of Four Seasons, Ind., Robert (Robin) Bryan of DeMotte, Ind. and Michael (Mindy) Bryan of Fishers, Ind., sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Muriel and Mickey Garcia. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
