Maerean (Pittman) Barnes, 80, died Thursday Jan. 16, 2014 in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis. Maerean was born Nov. 30, 1933 in Mintonville, Kentucky. She married Aubra L. Barnes on Oct. 9,1952 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They were married for 54 years.
She enjoyed shopping, bowling, playing cards and singing. She loved being with her family and family acitvites. She was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church in Whiteland.
Survivors include five children, Judith E. Meyer and Michael A.(Debbie) Barnes both of Greenwood, Marsha L. Barnes and Kathy A. Catt both of Indianapolis and Steven L.( Becky) Barnes of Franklin, four sisters, Audrey Hare and Margie Stevens both of Indianapolis, Iva Dean Cox of Kentucky and Betty Stone of Florida, two brothers, Lloyd Cox of Whiteland and Richard Cox of Columbus, eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnie S.Pittman and Renie Mae (Miller) Pittman Cox, husband, Aubra L. Barnes, infant son, Michael Duane Barnes and a brother, Clay Pittman.
