Madge B. Peterson
And so I end my sojourn here on this wonderful earth. I died on May 13, 2015.
I was born on September 14, 1919 to Maude Burt and Walter N. Burt. My father passed away when I was two years old and my mother raised seven children, of whom I was the youngest. She remarried in 1925 and we had a good family life for ten years. My mother died in 1940. All of my sisters and brothers have preceded me in death. I grew up in Ogden, attending Lewis Elementary and Jr. High School. I graduated with the last class from Ogden High School located on Monroe Blvd in 1937. I attended Weber Junior College and then went on to receive my AMA Degree in X-Ray Technology. I married Robert C. Peterson on December 27, 1947. He was a career Air Force Officer and we were stationed in many interesting areas of the world. We came back to Ogden in 1968. I went to work for Vocational Rehabilitation, retiring in 1979. On February 5, 1991 our marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Bob preceded me in death on February 19, 2007. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have served as secretary in the Sunday School and a visiting teacher in the Relief Society. I have enjoyed playing golf and the oriental game of Mah Jongg.
I am survived by many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Barbara Flinders. I have had a wonderful life, not all roses, but sometimes adversities can make us grow and enables us to endure to the end. I give deep and humble thanks to all of my friends for their concerns for me. May God bless you as he has blessed me throughout my lifetime. I now, hopefully, will join my husband and loved ones who have preceded me in death.
Special thanks to all those at Canyon Hospice and Legacy House who were so kind and took special care of her.
