Madge A. Morrison Clauss, 75

Valatie – Madge A. Morrison Clauss, 75, of Brookfield Farm Lane passed away quietly but unexpectedly with her daughter by her side of a courageous battle with kidney cancer on Friday, January 08, 2010, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born in Haverstraw, NY, she was daughter of the late Orme Morrison and Mary Gibbons Morrison and wife for 36 years of the late Edward Joseph Clauss. She was raised in Haverstraw, NY, resided in Thiells, NY for 35 years, then Troy with her daughter and again in Valatie for the past 10 years. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Hunter College.

Mrs. Clauss was an elementary school art teacher for the Nanuet, NY school district for 32 years retiring in 1989.

She was a quiet, loving soul who was dedicated to her daughter and grandchildren and loved her gardens and doing the NY Times crossword puzzle daily.

Survivors include he daughter, Hilary (George II) Eutzy of Valatie, NY; two step daughters,Sandra Clauss of Santa Cruz, CA and Shawn Amador of Modesto, CA; her grandchildren, Aidan and Sydney Sericolo and George Henry Eutzy III all of Valatie; her step grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Amador of Modesto, CA; a niece, Mary Rodriquez of Stoney Point, NY and grand nieces and nephews, Johnny, Desiree, Kallista and Nikko. She was predeceased by a sister, MaryLou Tsoutsos.
