Mrs. Madelyn Sue Pratt, age 69, of Lancaster, SC formally of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the home of her daughter in SC. Madelyn got the ultimate gift of Christmas being able to spend Christmas in Heaven with Jesus as they celebrated and opened gifts together.
She was born on February 20, 1945 in Clarksburg a daughter to Hazel Henderson Markley and the late Robert Joseph Markley, Sr. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Pratt who passed on June 24, 2014; son, Michael Eugene Pratt; and great-grandson Gabriel C. Hunter. She was a homemaker most of her life, but worked some for Hills Department Stores and David Weiss where she met many wonderful friends. She was also a member of the Mt. Clare UMC; member of the Rebekah Lodge #302 Mt. Clare; was an avid reader and loved working word search puzzles; in her spare time she loved spending time with her grandchildren, listening to Gaither Gospel music, and loved her beloved pet Snickers.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughters, Dawna Marie and Kevin Jenkins, of Clarksburg; Lynda Darlene and Glen Smith, Ohio; Tara Joyce and Michael Tilson, of SC; 8 grandchildren, Jordan Robert Smith, of OH, Laura Elaine Jenkins, of Clarksburg, Whitney Renea Smith, of OH, Allison Brianna-Sue and Stephen Johnston, of NC, Corey Stephen Canipe, of SC, Trey Alexander Canipe, of SC, Tiffani Michaela Tilson, of SC, Tyler Michael Tilson, of SC; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Markley, Jr., and Joyce of FL, Frank Markley and Judy, of OH.
