Madelyn Eleanor (Maus) Eiler, 89, passed away Monday Jan. 5, 2015 in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenwood. Madelyn was born April 10, 1925 in Peru, Indiana. She married John Dale Eiler on June 18, 1944 in Denver, Indiana; they were married for 69 years. He preceded her in death in October 2013.

Madelyn was employed with Community East Hospital as an administration secretary for 11 years. She retired in 1982.

She was a member of the Post Road Christian Church in Indianapolis. She was a pianist and organist. She was a 4-H State Grand Champion in sewing and Indianapolis Business Woman of the year in 1981.

After retirement Madelyn and John enjoyed 25 years residing in Florida during the winter months.

Survivors include her son, Alan M. (Gayle) Eiler of Columbus and two grandchildren, Misty Noel (Rob) Regan of Florida and Mitchel (Fran) Eiler of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman Russell and Estella Fern (Murphy) Maus, husband, John Dale Eiler and a brother, Hershel Maus.
